Synopsis: Fun!!! And 400$ raised??! Way to go!
Monday 20th May 2024When I tell people I ride a motorcycle, they usually tell me they're dangerous and someone they know was injured. While YES they are a huge responsibility, how cool is it they also be can be used to draw attention to things people might be struggling with and create a social place for what is commonly considered a "loner" type activity.
I hope I somehow helped you think fundraising, motorcycling, or [insert thing here] is worth it. Special thanks to all who donated. Bless up!
Have a distinguished and gentlemanly kind of day. :)

203$ Raised, 47$ more to go!...or more?!
Friday 17th May 2024HEY! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR DONATING! This is fun. I've never done one of these fundraisers before. But seriously - I'm going to put some effort into this whole thing by posting another photo. Here's me looking the most dapper I've ever dapped (my wedding day).
Where the money is going? Men's mental health, prostate cancer support and the required event formalities (police escort, vendors, etc). And, well. A bunch of classy men and women coming together for a noble cause and a day out in the city on motorized vehicles (kinda silly when you think about it). :P
47$ more USD and I'll make the raise "250$" quota for a chance to win a motorcycle. How cool would that be?! Would coincidentally be a great birthday present (turning 35 years old on May 18th).
I'll post some photos after the event, too. Should be a grand, old time.
Regardless, thanks for stopping by!!
Film Industry Vespa Rider! (Scooters count, right?)
Thursday 16th May 2024The NY Lotto Commercial "Odds of Love" needed somone to ride a vintage Vespa (1970's I think?). I thought, "Well. I can ride a motorcycle. So, why not?" A couple phone calls and one late night film shoot later, I made the cut! One of the crew guys took this photo for me. You can watch the final video in the link provided here: https://vimeo.com/277512133
1981 Honda Goldwing (Austin, TX)
Thursday 16th May 2024From 2018 to 2019 I lived in Austin, Tx. I had a 2003 Ford Escape that kept breaking down, so I bought a motorcycle for those periods in between shop repairs. Unfortunately, this motorycle over-heated pretty often (needed a carborator flush). And, with the way the engine was designed, I couldn't find but one mechanic who would look at it. This guy was in between shop locations and feuds with another mechanic. Needless to say, I learned alot about diplomacy and to be patient with this older motorcycle. When it was operational, it was a smooth Cafe Racer that hugged the road.
I ended up selling it because I lost my job and needed some cash to get back to New York City. Yes, I miss it, but if we raise 250$, maybe luck will come my way and I can own a motorcycle again! :)
Motorcycle Safety Foundation
Thursday 16th May 2024Here I am learning how to ride a motorcycle with the Motorcycle Safety Foundation in 2013. I was told the actor (Rainn Wilson?) who plays Dwight Schrutte on the TV Show "The Office" learned a couple weeks before me.
The class was very informative and helped build the confidence needed to ride.
My First Motorcycle (2013 Kawasaki Ninja 300 abs)
Thursday 16th May 2024I wanted to share this story with whoever out there was interested. And, if you're opening your wallets in any way, I hope this story can suffice. :P
My father once told me he had a dream of riding a motorcycle through Canada from one side to the other (east coast to west coast). That idea, that idealistic passion resonated with me for years. He's long since forgotten about that pursuit and never learned how to ride, but I've carried that powerful mumur in my soul.
When I lived in Los Angeles around 2013 I'd often find myself sitting in traffic. In a bout of frustration I said, "Holy crap. I'd rather kill myself than sit through this B.S." and suddenly, "ZOOM!" a motorcycle passed me, splitting the lanes. It dawned on me, "I'd rather risk death to be free." So....I learned how to ride a motorcycle. Among the japanese anime "AKIRA," Hunter S. Truman's "Motorcycle Diaries," and a tennant I was supporting who said riding his Ducati Monster was, "Freedom," I knew I had found a place for that passion, that adventure.
To me, riding a motorycle is one of the few areas in my life I can really spread my wings and fly. A fortress of solitude, an escape from the mundane, and a place I can sync up with the world. Because, on that perfect day, with the perfect conditions, I can see God's infinite beauty and capture that idealistic passion my father once bestilled on me....that resonance for a brief moment in time.
I'm Riding for Men's Health in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride
Thursday 16th May 2024Birthday weekend! Wahoo! Turning 35! My buddy John Roberts talked me into riding this event. Carpe diem! Should be a lot of fun. If we raise 250$ it enters me into a running for the chance to win a free motorcycle! And, it's going to a good cause! Anyways - below are the "event details." Have a great day!
On Sunday the 19th of May 2024, I'm riding in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride with fellow men and women across the globe to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer and men's mental health on behalf of Movember. Men die on average 6 years earlier than women and for largely preventable reasons. The number of men that are suffering is growing, and we need to do something about that. So, before I press my tweed and polish my boots, I'm asking you to join me in raising funds and awareness for these causes by donating what you can for this meaningful cause and to help the men we love, live happier and healthier lives.
