I'm Riding for Men's Health in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride

On Sunday the 19th of May 2024, I'm riding in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride with fellow men and women across the globe to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer and men's mental health.

These are issues that are very close to my heart, having personally struggled with my own mental health, witnessing the suffering of friends, and tragically losing one to suicide.

My main reason and focus for participating in the DGR, however, is to raise awareness and funding to combat prostate cancer.

My Grandad was my best friend, my father figure, my mentor and my rock. He passed on his passion for all things mechanical to me, in particular classic American cars and motorcycles.

Unfortunately he passed away far too young, after battling with prostate cancer. I would give anything to be able to spanner on motorcycles and ride with him today, and while that is not possible, perhaps through fundraising and awareness, somebody else's Grandad may have their life saved to be able share those experiences with a grandson or granddaughter.

It is because of him I ride daily, and in his name I will be twisting the throttle in the DGR; in memory of Raymond Wood.
