DGR virgin…..and riding for my dad.
Friday 3rd May 2024A week and a half ago, my dad, bone marrow cancer survivor, teller of terrible dad jokes, and annoyingly good golfer, fell down the stairs, and after two days and nights of us holding his hands, stopped breathing. He never woke up. I already miss calling him up to offload about work, politics, the weather or our golf game, or hear his advice. Though I still talk to him everyday.
This post is not for sympathy, though thank you for all the lovely words from those few that knew. It is asking for your support for men’s health charities instead.

I'm riding in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride on May 19th, with fellow men and women across the globe, to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer, mental healthand and men's health in general, on behalf of Movember. Men die on average 6 years earlier than women and for largely preventable reasons. We need to do something about that….thank you for anything you can give to support this charity for wide ranging men’s health work.

And I miss you dad. X
I'm Riding for my Dad and Men's Health in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride
Thursday 11th Apr 2024On Sunday the 19th of May 2024, I'm riding in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride with fellow men and women across the globe to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer, mental healthand and men's health in general, on behalf of Movember. Men die on average 6 years earlier than women and for largely preventable reasons. We need to do something about that.
My dear dad died 1 week ago, ironically having beaten bone marrow cancer, after a big fall, resulting in brain damage, a coma, and us all holding his hands for two nights until he passed away. This ride is also for him and his memory.
So, before I press my tweed, polish my boots and saddle up, I'm asking you to join me in raising funds and awareness for these causes by donating what you can to help the men we love, and help our "distinguished gentlemen" live happier and healthier lives. Thank you.
