One More Week!
Sunday 12th May 2024Time flies when you're having fun, apparently, because we're down to a week away! I've only got a couple minor bits and pieces to figure out before Sunday, but I'm nearly there.
Had a bit of a scare with the GL1000- one of the cam seals started leaking quite a bit. Thankfully I had spares on hand, and the replacement seems to be holding. I'll bring a rag just in case.
As far as my suit, bits and pieces are still trickling in, but I'm about 90% set. Did I have to match my bike? No. But I'm glad I did.
Hopefully the weather holds for next week, because the ride is looking to be a good one!
Testing the Ride
Monday 15th Apr 2024The weather cooperated today with absolutely gorgeous conditions, so I decided to make sure the bike was in working order. I had a bit of a scare starting off when the tachometer decided to go crazy, but it settled down and the bike performered flawlessly the rest of the day.
I'm still not dead-set on taking the GL1000, but it's a fantastic backup in case I can't get the CB750 in working order in time. And who knows, the idea of taking the 'wing is kind of growing on me.
That Time Again....
Monday 8th Apr 2024Well, its about that time again. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and I get to see if I remember where I left my suit last year.
This is my third year doing the Detroit ride, and every one has been a blast. I still haven't COMPLETELY decided on my bike yet. I'm currently leaning toward my yellow Goldwing, but if my '70 CB750 gets done, who knows?
Still, I've got a month. That should be plenty of time to get things sorted.
I'm Riding for Men's Health in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride
Monday 25th Mar 2024 On Sunday the 19th of May 2024, I'm riding in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride with fellow men and women across the globe to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer and men's mental health on behalf of Movember. Men die on average 6 years earlier than women and for largely preventable reasons. The number of men that are suffering is growing, and we need to do something about that. So, before I press my tweed and polish my boots, I'm asking you to join me in raising funds and awareness for these causes by donating what you can for this meaningful cause and to help the men we love, live happier and healthier lives. My Sponsors
