Ride Day

Monday 20th May 2024

Got up early to get ready, to a forecast of sunshine, but the north east weather obviously had other ideas, and sea fret made for a damp day, never the less, it did warm up a little, and the mist cleared as the day went on.

Was a lovely ride, although getting out through the very heavy newcatle traffic was not easy! However made it out.

There was such a big turnout and so many amazing bikes and dapper dressed folks too.

Thanks from the bottom of me heart to all those who supported me today too!

The final leg of the ride was very relaxing with light traffic and far fewer junctions. The Brewery was nice and there was a lovely pizza van serving very tasty stone baked pizza in a wood fired stove!

All in all, a "dappa" day!

We're ready!

Sunday 19th May 2024

My hair is ready, the Henna dye took very nicely and after a lovely ride today, had to clean the flies of my bike, and give it a nice polish so its all shiny for the day!

Thanks again to all who have donated to not just me but as a whole.

One more sleep, than lets ride!

Vintage Gloves

Sunday 19th May 2024

With the weather being so nice, I caught up with an old friend in the lovely village of Blanchland. We chatted over cake and a cold drink and he mentioned that he had some vintage gloves that his wife occasionally wore. So off we headed on the twisties to his house where I picked up the gloves, and they fit very nicely!

Outfit all set!

Hair!

Saturday 18th May 2024

You may be wondering why i'm sitting with clingfilm on my head?

I use henna hair dye on account of me having psroisis, the red blotchy stuff on my forehead. It also causes my hair to be very thing.

Henna is another way I can dye my scalp and also the dye is actually good for it too!

So for the ride tomorrow, I should have auburn hair. If I got the mix of dye wrong, I may have extremely copper coloured hair!

What to wear?

Friday 17th May 2024

Only days to go and i've emptied my whole wardrobe onto my bed. Seems despite running 3 times a week, my sweet tooth has gotten some of my clothing a bit tight!

Its a balance too of some style and also safety. I have a canny retro bike jacket, but its rather bulky too. I still fit my suite jacked, a nice tweed style too, but zero protection.

I'll maybe take the slow roads to the starting point if I wear that!

I'm pretty much ready for the ride.

Tuesday 14th May 2024

I love retro mixed with modern, and have picked up a lovely Bell crash helmet, with fab vintage styling. How ironic that its kitted out with modern tech, such as my cardo so I have music while I ride.

I'm getting used to my new bike, having had my first longer ride on it now the weather is a tad warmer.

I also visited Triumph Newcastle at the weekend to celebrate the launch of the Triumph Daytona 660. The pizza was lush too!

I met members of the Triumph Owners MCC, and will certainly be joining!

I'm Riding for Men's Health in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride

Wednesday 27th Mar 2024 On Sunday the 19th of May 2024, I'm riding in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride with fellow men and women across the globe to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer and men's mental health on behalf of Movember. Men die on average 6 years earlier than women and for largely preventable reasons. The number of men that are suffering is growing, and we need to do something about that. So, before I press my tweed and polish my boots, I'm asking you to join me in raising funds and awareness for these causes by donating what you can for this meaningful cause and to help the men we love, live happier and healthier lives.
