A Story of Courage
Saturday 30th Mar 2024I preface this with the caution of the importance of checking in on your loved ones, despite their actions and demeanor in their actions with you. You never know what battles someone has inside until you are willing to be the one to have a hard conversation. You may save a life.
I was recently contacted by a friend who I consider a brother letting me know that he sought help for internal battles he was facing.
If you met him, you would never know anything was wrong. He’s an outgoing and selfless guy who just cares about making the people around him feel welcomed and happy. Overall a strong willed person who lives to perfect his life and to be present in the lives of those in his life.
You could imagine how caught off guard I was to hear about how he was feeling. Him? I could not fathom that someone like him would be struggling. Everyone always thinks they can spot those who are struggling, but those who struggle generally mask it well.
Strength is not suppressing how you’re feeling. Strength is not convincing everyone in your life. Strength is taking control of your life and getting the help you need. It may not be easy. It may not be comfortable. But it’s doing it for the ones you love.
This goes to everyone.. If you’re struggling and need someone and need to talk. Please reach out to me, message or call me. I’m here for you. You are loved and appreciated and I am glad you are here.
And to my friend who gave me permission to post this; I’m riding for you brother. I am forever proud of you.
And to everyone else, please check in on your loved ones. If you wish to help me and people around the world provide resources for men across the world to access resources for mental health, please consider sponsoring me as I ride in the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride. All proceeds will go to funding prostate cancer research and providing resources for men’s mental health.
Thank you and god bless.
Year 2
Tuesday 26th Mar 2024Hello, Everyone!
I am very excited to have the opportunity participate in the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride another year. Last year was a blast. I am still moved at the amount of support I received and the amount of donations made to the cause.
My goal this year is to raise 10,000 dollars for the cause. Any donation amount helps fund testicular cancer research and resources for men's mental health.
If you are unable to donate, please consider helping me by sharing with your friends, family, and colleagues. I would appreciate it dearly.
As a veteran, I have lost brothers to the battle within. Many men, especially those serving in Law Enforcement, First Responder and Military capacities struggle with mental health. Many will tell you "I'm fine" or "I am alright." It's okay to not be okay. No matter what occupation, gender, or background you come from, mental health issues are never easy to deal with. Please don't go through it alone.
If you are struggling with mental health and need to talk, please call me or message me. I am here for you. You are loved and appreciated and I am glad you're here.
I'm Riding for Men's Health in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride
Tuesday 26th Mar 2024 On Sunday the 19th of May 2024, I'm riding in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride with fellow men and women across the globe to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer and men's mental health on behalf of Movember. Men die on average 6 years earlier than women and for largely preventable reasons. The number of men that are suffering is growing, and we need to do something about that. So, before I press my tweed and polish my boots, I'm asking you to join me in raising funds and awareness for these causes by donating what you can for this meaningful cause and to help the men we love, live happier and healthier lives. My Sponsors
