From Pain to Purpose: This DGR Season Feels Different

Saturday 3rd May 2025

It’s been a whirlwind leading up to the 2025 Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride. And this year—things feel different.

The excitement is still there, of course. But it’s deeper now. Our local leadership team is growing—not just in size, but in character, vision, and impact. We welcomed a new team member this year, someone whose enthusiasm and passion have been nothing short of phenomenal. Seeing how much this cause means to them has been humbling. Their presence has helped shape our team’s identity and direction in powerful ways.

As our team grows, so does our vision. The Tyler DGR is becoming more than a ride. It’s more than a fundraiser. It’s more than an excuse to dress dapper, socialize, and ride beautiful bikes.

For us, this event is about building something lasting. It’s about forming a community of local men who feel like they belong. It’s about shining a light on men’s mental health and creating a culture where it's not taboo to talk about the hard stuff.

Through Tyler DGR, we’re helping establish a network of guys who check on each other, stand by each other, and show up when it matters most. We’re also giving a platform to local mental health organizations—inviting them to share their services, educate the public, and offer hope.

This isn't just something that happens once a year. It’s lived out in the spaces between.

Personally, this year feels different for me too. In years past, I was driven by pain—by loss, grief, and the weight of personal battles. That pain lit the fire for this work. But lately, I’ve felt that fire shifting. It’s no longer fueled by hurt alone. It’s starting to burn with hope.

Maybe it’s because I’ve seen what this group has become. It’s full of diverse personalities and incredible bikes, yes—but it’s also full of compassion. I’ve seen guys reach out when they’re struggling, and I’ve seen others rally to support them. I’ve watched men step into leadership, service, and friendship. That might be why my motivation is changing—because I see what’s Sometimes, I feel a twinge of guilt that the pain doesn’t feel quite as sharp as it once did. But then I’m reminded of my God’s promises. Over the past year, my relationship with Him has deepened in ways I didn’t expect. It’s become more personal, more grounded, and more central to how I see the world and my role in it. In my darkest moments, I chose to put on a garment of praise to push through the weight of despair. And over time, that garment of praise—anchored in faith—brought a spirit of hope, growth, and renewed purpose. That’s what continues to carry me forward.

This year is different. And I can’t wait for May 18, 2025.

The day we celebrate what we’ve built.
The day we highlight the resources that have taken root in our community.
The day we show the very best of motorcycle culture and brotherhood.

This is why DGR matters.
This is why it’s a priority.
This is why I keep showing up.

I'm Riding for Men's Health in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride

Friday 21st Mar 2025 On Sunday the 18th of May 2025, I'm riding in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride with fellow men and women across the globe to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer and men's mental health on behalf of Movember. Men die on average 6 years earlier than women and for largely preventable reasons. The number of men that are suffering is growing, and we need to do something about that. So, before I press my tweed and polish my boots, I'm asking you to join me in raising funds and awareness for these causes by donating what you can for this meaningful cause and to help the men we love, live happier and healthier lives.
