I'm Riding for Men's Health in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride

Thursday 28th Mar 2024

On Sunday the 19th of May 2024, my trusty pillion, Oli and I are riding in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride with fellow men and women across the globe to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer and men's mental health on behalf of Movember. Men die on average 6 years earlier than women and for largely preventable reasons. The number of men that are suffering is growing, and we need to do something about that. So, before I press my tweed and polish my boots, I'm asking you to join me in raising funds and awareness for these causes by donating what you can for this meaningful cause and to help the men we love, live happier and healthier lives.

To boast my physical and mental health, I have given Couch to 5K another go. I'm 8 weeks through the 9 week program. It is harder going that when I did it in 2020 but I am being helped along by the wonderful Fiona. Run 3 of week 7 was super-sized into my first a 5km parkrun. Tough going and I have set a very low bar for us both to aim at next time.

Oli and I have also been volunteering with Surrey Wildlife Trust over the last few months. It has been good to get back into this. Another great way to boast physical and mental health. It also covers Oli's volunteering element for his DofE.

Special thanks to Honda for lending me the most distinguished motorcycle to ride, the Honda Gold Wing.
