DGR Edinburgh

Sunday 19th May 2024

The DGR was established 2012 in Australia in an effort to help change perceptions of motorcyclists and quickly grew into a global event.

In 2014 myself and about 40 others were intrigued enough to attend the first Scottish ride which started in North Berwick and finished in Edinburghs Grassmarket, with much enjoyment and bemusement for those attending and spectating.

Since then the event has become a charitable organisation raising millions worldwide for men's health charities.

Some say the event is now too corporate and I partially agree that it has lost its Innocent beginnings, however I still believe it is a fun day out with like minded people and that it does provide much needed funds to worthwhile causes.

On the eve of my tenth Edinburgh DGR I thank everyone that has taken the time to donate to my fundraising past and present, look forward to seeing some of you tomorrow and to having a jolly good day riding my humble motorcycle.

I'm Riding for Men's Health in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride

Sunday 7th Apr 2024 On Sunday the 19th of May 2024, I'm riding in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride with fellow men and women across the globe to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer and men's mental health on behalf of Movember. Men die on average 6 years earlier than women and for largely preventable reasons. The number of men that are suffering is growing, and we need to do something about that. So, before I press my tweed and polish my boots, I'm asking you to join me in raising funds and awareness for these causes by donating what you can for this meaningful cause and to help the men we love, live happier and healthier lives.
