DGR2024 is Done!
Monday 20th May 2024After the longest DGR ride so far, the 2024 event was finally completed in about two and a half hours. It was great to see so many bikers all dressed in their dapper threads to support such a worthy cause. With bikes spanning the last 100 years in attendance, there were a couple of break-downs, but most of the riders made it to the Triumph Visitors Centre in Hinckley. We did take the GoPro with is, so if we have any decent footage, keep an out out on the socials for it.
Thanks again to all our supporters for their extremely kind donations. Your sponsorship will help support charities for Men's Mental Health and Prostate Cancer. At the time of writing this, we are already at £630 raised for our little ride, which put us 4th on the Leaderboard for the Birmigham ride.
Thanks again and we'll see you next year (18th May 2025)
New chrome for the Bonny
Monday 29th Apr 2024After many occassions where items were left at home, or a backpack was required, I have finally upgraded the carrying capacity of my T120 with the classic chrome luggage rack. This will hopefully soon be followed by some aesthetic-appropriate luggage that can hold all the dapper accessossories we might need!
More about our wheels
Friday 5th Apr 2024I have previously used my true classic for past DGRs, the 51 year old BMW R60/5. As much as I do love that bike, and have poured hundreds of hours into its updating and maintenance, it is still a classic, air-cooled motorbike, and it really doesn't like sitting still in traffic on hot days, which is often a component of the DGR experience.
So this time, we will be taking my 2021 Triumph Bonneville T120 - a beautiful and powerful modern classic that encaptulates the style of the 1960's Triumphs while providing the reliability and modern technology of the latest machines. With bags of torque on tap from low in the rev range, this beast is a true "wolf in sheeps clothing", and will be more than enough for me and Andrea to cruise effortlessly in our most dapper togs.
We will look much more dapper than this on the day!
Wednesday 3rd Apr 2024We're Riding for Men's Health in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride
Wednesday 3rd Apr 2024On Sunday the 19th of May 2024, We're riding in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride with fellow men and women across the globe to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer and men's mental health on behalf of Movember. Men die on average 6 years earlier than women and for largely preventable reasons. The number of men that are suffering is growing, and we need to do something about that. So, before we press the tweed and polish our boots, we're asking you to join us in raising funds and awareness for these causes by donating what you can for this meaningful cause and to help the men we love, live happier and healthier lives.
